About Us

I'm Priscilla Lao, Clinical Psychologist and founder of Well Beings.
I founded Well Beings because I believe people deserve to be truly well, not just get by — and that means respecting the unique experiences, circumstances, and strengths each person brings.
A lot of the people I work with have felt stuck, on edge, or disconnected — from themselves, from others, or from a life they'd hoped to live. Often, they've been carrying something for a long time — not quite knowing how to lighten the load, feeling too scared to face it, or finding that the patterns that once served them just aren't working anymore. My aim is to create a space where we can slow things down, make sense of what's been happening, and work on what's actually getting in the way.
I have a particular interest in trauma — including PTSD, complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and childhood trauma — as well as anxiety, relationship and attachment patterns, and conditions that are often misunderstood or carried privately, such as OCD, tic disorders, and body-focused repetitive behaviours like hair pulling or skin picking.
I work from a trauma-informed, schema therapy foundation, bringing in evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and ACT, or specialist treatments such as CBIT, depending on what makes most sense for you.
My role is to work alongside you — acknowledging what's shaped you, while focusing on building a life that feels genuinely your own.

I'll bring my clinical experience and evidence-based strategies to support you, with gentle guidance tailored to what you need.

My clinical interests
My clinical interests include:
- Trauma, including PTSD and complex/childhood trauma
- Attachment and relationship patterns, including difficulties with boundaries, closeness, trust, conflict, or disconnection
- Anxiety and OCD
- Tic disorders
- Body-focused repetitive behaviours (BFRBs) such as hair pulling (trichotillomania) and skin picking

Approaches I use
I tailor therapy to your needs, while staying grounded in evidence-based care. Depending on what you’re working through, I may draw on:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused approaches
- Schema and attachment-informed therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy (ACT)
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT)
- Comprehensive Behavioural Treatment of Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (ComB)
- Motivational Interviewing
If something doesn’t feel like the right fit, we’ll talk about it — therapy should feel collaborative and responsive, not one-size-fits-all.

Professional experience
- Grounded in experience across hospital and private practice settings
- Experience supporting trauma and PTSD, including work with emergency service workers and veterans
- Experience supporting people at relationship crossroads and those feeling stuck in repeating relationship patterns — working toward stronger connection or clarity about next steps
- Experience supporting young adults and university students navigating pressure, identity, and relationships
- Experience supporting people through life transitions and major shifts in roles and responsibilities
- Neuro-affirming experience supporting ADHD, tic disorders, and OCD

A little about me
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with my dog, Luna, doing a bit of junk journalling (my reminder that things don’t need to be perfect), or winding down with Netflix. I love trying new flavours, travelling, and I’ve recently taken up pickleball. I’m naturally curious, always learning, and I value meaningful connection with people.
